OT Week 2018 Wrap Up

 

OT Week 2018 was held from 21-27 October. We were excited to see so many members and occupational therapists taking part and celebrating all the ways occupational therapy can help you reach your pOTential.OTA ebooks

OTA is committed to increasing the awareness of the value and benefits of occupational therapy and lifting the profile of the profession. As part of #OTWeek2018 we launched a series of eBooks designed for consumers; they can be downloaded from the OTA consumer website aboutoccupationaltherapy.com.au.

There was a wonderful range of events throughout the country including, breakfasts, morning teas, workshops, webinars, yoga sessions and some fantastic online events.

OT Week 2018 Yoga Victoria

Libby Maitland, an OT and a Yoga Instructor, led a wonderful session for OTs celebrating OT week in VIC.

The WA Division (together with partners Vision Australia, TADWA and Alzheimer’s Australia) went to the people at the Dog Swap Shopping centre to talk aging well with older adults in the community.

OT Week DevelopOT

DevelopOT celebrated OT Week in South Australia.

The Canberra Private Hospital had a static wall display in the patient lounge about what Occupational Therapy does, how we decide what to do and some light-hearted memes.

ACT NSW OT Week Facebook Event

Our NSW/ACT Division held a week-long OT Week Facebook event which attracted over 290 members and included videos, Q&As and give-aways.

The ACT Division held a breakfast for members to celebrate OT Week 2018.

OT Week was celebrated by the Active Ageing and Disability Services team at Knox City Council with a morning tea, presentation and demonstrations using aids and equipment.
